PLUMES
PLUMES is the first Seattle show and first ever solo exhibition by Seattle and New York-based ceramic artist, Ann Shure. Following up a sold-out show earlier this year at Missoula's renowned, ceramics-focused, Radius Gallery, PLUMES features a broad selection of Shure's ceramic "stacks." From playful miniatures to towering seven-foot ceramic eruptions, PLUMES evokes the waterfalls, soaring columns, and striking geological outcroppings of Iceland, for which the works are named. Shure's work showcases a wide range of clay types, firing, glazing and handbuilding techniques, which come together to form an overall body of cohesive, organic, and angular elegance.
